Purchasing and Supply Chain Director

Rate: £750 per day

Working for a rapidly growing IT business with growth over 100% in the last year and further evolution planned out client’s supply chain needs be in a position to support the demands of the business, the focus will be in efficiency and scalability.

Primary Purpose:

 - To be responsible for the strategic planning for supply chain, embedding robust controls and process improvement to increase efficiency and reduce re-work and diversionary activity.

 - To oversee the continued enhancement of the strong, sector specific purchasing skills existing in the business.

 - To develop the systems capability necessary for the scalability of the business to £500m turnover within 5 years.

Key Performance Indicators:

 - Streamlined purchasing & supply chain process through systems enhancement and upgrade, including extension of e-purchasing into seamless order integration process with suppliers.

 - High level vendor interface and negotiations on SLA’s and performance standards.

 - Margin enhancement through smart & skillful purchasing decision making

 - Leading, managing, mentoring and developing the purchasing & supply chain team including strong performance management across the two main sites.

 - Close control of stock holding and aging, whilst ensuring no adverse effect on customer supply and delivery expectations.

Person Specification

An experienced supply chain professional who can integrate into a fast moving and rapidly growing environment. You must demonstrate experience in the upstream and downstream elements of the supply chain to influence senior internal stakeholders, suppliers and customers alike.
