Richard joined Archer Mathieson as Chief Executive in June 2010 as the business was being successfully integrated into The Cornhill Partnership. Richard also sits on the main board of The Cornhill Partnership alongside Rob Walker, CEO, and Rob Allin, Group FD. The Cornhill Partnership was created in 2010 as the result of an MBO backed by Barclays Ventures, and currently consists of three other recruitment businesses in addition to Archer Mathieson; Euromedica, Correlate Search and BIE Interim Executive.
Richard established his reputation by building the mid market Financial recruitment consultancy business Martin Ward Anderson from £1m revenues and 10 people in 1995 into a £50m business employing 225 people in 2009. As Chief Executive Richard successfully led the sale of the business to Randstad, the worlds 2nd largest staffing organisation in 2005.
Prior to Martin Ward Anderson Richard worked with Michael Page International for 8 years in a variety of Consulting and Managerial roles. Richard is also a Board Advisor to a Management Consultancy recruitment business, Rees Draper Wright.
James Aston is the Director responsible for founding Archer Mathieson’s Human Resources practice. With a recruitment career of more than 12 years across a variety of sectors, his experience spans retained senior level marketing, sales, finance, and HR assignments. Having previously worked in South Africa for Coca Cola, James returned to the UK in 1998. James holds an MSc in Aquaculture, and a BSc in Marine Biology from Bangor University.

Gordon Whyte joined the team in April 2011 to lead Archer Mathieson’s interim HR practice. His focus is to continue to build our traditional Thames Valley client base, whilst also establishing our London office. With over 16 years’ experience in the recruitment industry, Gordon has exposure across a range of sectors and functional areas. After graduating Gordon completed his CIPD and worked within commercial finance recruitment in London and Sydney. Whilst in Australia he worked for 10 years within a large recruitment group, running a range of teams and establishing their HR recruitment business. Most recently he worked within the senior HR interim team at Digby Morgan. Gordon works across both our Windsor and London offices.

David Morrison has over 10 years’ experience handling executive level positions on an interim and search basis. David began his career specialising in finance recruitment however took a management position at a leading supply chain & procurement specialist, where he lead the development of their specific procurement recruitment capability.
Now well networked across the breadth of the supply chain David leads the Procurement & Supply Chain Practice and personally handles both interim and search assignments. His focus is the continued development of his network and long term relationships as well establishing his team to expand this functional offering at Archer Mathieson.
With a BSc in Exercise Physiology, David a keen sportsman understands just how unfit he really is, especially after retiring from football. However unperturbed he is fully focused on hurting himself on his mountain bike and plays the odd round of golf.
